2015 Summer Reading

Research shows that in order to retain all that you’ve acquired academically, and to increase comprehension and expand vocabulary, students should read at least 20 minutes daily over the summer. Inasmuch, all Emmanuel students are assigned Summer Reading projects. For our families’ convenience, each grade’s reading assignment has been posted to our website, under “Academics – Summer Reading.”

Summer reading and corresponding story maps are to be completed and returned the first day of school, Wednesday, August 19, 2015. Teachers will review each submission and assign points and/or rewards based on students’ completed work. This assignment will count as students’ first reading grade.

Reading can be fun! You’re encouraged to select a book that is interesting to you/your student. Most books are available, free of charge, at your local library.

Should you have any questions, please refer them to Mrs. Carroll at [email protected].
