Today we began our golf field study in physical education. This special field study is sponsored by the @tiretown.golf.club . Tiretown Golf Club is the largest predominately African American golf club in the United States. The club was established in 1950 during a time when racial tensions were running high in an effort to level the playing field. Now more than 75 years later and 180 members strong, the Club continues to ensure African American representation on and off the golf course, giving our students an opportunity to not only experience the sport of golf but also to learn important life skills along the way. Thank you Tiretown for offering this year long learning experience to our middle school physical education students.

Congratulations Project GRAD Akron for another successful Back to School Bash. Entering their 24th school year, the organization is led by Executive Director @jacquelinesilasbutler maintaining the importance of commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of others as they help students achieve their dreams. Each year, our elementary students have the opportunity to participate in the Black College Football Hall of Fame Classic’s Reading The Playbook initiative.
We are grateful to the volunteers who visit Emmanuel Christian Academy and spend time reading with our scholars. Members of the Divine Nine, community leaders, and other professionals have joined us in this meaningful initiative, providing our students with positive examples of Black excellence, leadership, and a love of literacy. Their presence helps us create opportunities for our scholars to see themselves reflected in leaders and professionals who are making a difference in their communities.
As we recognize the important connection between education, reading, and future success, we encourage our families to make literacy a family affair! Whether it’s reading together at home, visiting the library, or discussing a book, every conversation can help inspire our students to dream big.
At Emmanuel Christian Academy, we believe that every student has a story to tell and a future to write. Let’s continue building strong readers, confident learners, and future leaders—one page at a time!
