Thank you Leadership Akron for spending the day showing us new opportunities within the community in the areas of agriculture. The STEAM Enrichment Program was intentionally designed to reduce summer learning loss by providing daily review of essential reading and math skills. Using our diagnostic tool, i‑Ready, teachers identified specific areas where students required additional support and delivered targeted instruction. As a result of these efforts, 75% of participating students (57 out of 76) demonstrated measurable academic growth. Every student was granted iReady login information for the remainder of the summer and encouraged to continue working using the skills they learned over the summer.

STEAM wk 6 concluded with a special field trip to the Oh Wow! Children's Museum in Youngstown OH. Kids were able to explore areas of play and imagination with blocks, Rock wall and an amazing weather center. The museum combined learning and play in disciplines of science and technology.
