Emmanuel's Summer Reading
As your child prepares to enter his/her school or next grade level, learners will be required to read one bookover the summer and bring completed assignment to school on the first day. Students in from three years old to eighth grade will receive a grade/credit for the work completed. Students are required to read over the summer because research indicates that continued reading advances literacy and academic performance by engaging students in reading and reading related activities during the summer reading months.In addition, students are encouraged to join the summer program at his/her local library. By joining the program students can increase a successful reading experience as well as foster a love for reading and qualify for prizes. Students who join the summer reading program and provide proof that s/he has joined will receive extra credit in his/her language arts class for 3 years old to 8th grade.
