Substitute Teacher

Provides temporary instruction and classroom supervision when a regular teacher is absent, following pre-made lesson plans, managing student behavior, maintaining a safe learning environment, and reporting on class activities.

Key Responsibilities
 Able to teach the Word of God to students.
 Deliver lessons and activities as outlined in the regular teacher’s lesson plans.
 Maintain a positive, safe, and orderly learning environment by enforcing school rules
and managing student behavior.
 Oversee students in the classroom, during breaks, and in other areas of the school
grounds as needed.
 Take daily attendance, record student progress, and document any incidents or
noteworthy observations for the returning teacher.
 Interact with students, other school staff, and potentially parents to address questions
and report on class activities.
 Adjust teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse needs of students in the
classroom.
 Record-keeping, and communication with staff to ensure educational continuity and
support student learning.

 Must be able to adapt quickly to different grade levels, subjects, and school environments.
 Should have strong skills in maintaining discipline and fostering a conducive learning
atmosphere.
 Must be able to effectively interact with students, staff, and parents.
 Model professional behavior, punctuality, and appropriate conduct as a role model for
students.
 Must be able to manage various tasks, materials, and student records accurately.
Education & Qualifications
 Bachelor’s degree and a state teaching license or substitute teaching permit are typically
required. However, will accept a minimum of an Associate Degree pursuing a Bachelor
degree with experience in the classroom.
