Emmanuel Christian Academy is pleased to announce its annual Back to Basics Summer Enrichment Program (SEP) and Entrepreneurship Camp (E-Camp) will begin Monday, June 8, 2015. The SEP runs from June 8 through July 24 for grades prekindergarten (age four by September 30) through eighth and will be held at Emmanuel (1650 Diagonal Rd., Akron, OH 44320). The E-Camp, which runs June 8 through July 3, will be held in two locations: Emmanuel for fourth through seventh grades; Akron Urban League (450 Vernon Odom Blvd., Akron, OH 44307) for eighth through tenth grades.

The SEP is designed to reinforce math, reading and writing concepts learned throughout the school year, and challenge students with skills needed for the next grade. From students with remedial needs to those who wish to maintain and increase their skills, this program has been successful in offering alternative summer learning to the community. Emmanuel’s SEP was recognized by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) in 2006 as an Exemplary School Program.

Emmanuel’s E-Camp promotes entrepreneurial education and exposure to the concepts of financial literacy. E-Camp helps students develop relationships and provides mentoring opportunities with individuals and organizations throughout Greater Akron. Participants acquire finance, marketing and accounting skills, along with an entrepreneurial mindset. The program also hones public speaking, negotiation, professional dress, networking and relationship building skills. Participants are presented with a variety of engaging and effective lessons each week.

Registration for Emmanuel’s SEP is $65 per child, and tuition is $120 per week, per child. Title XX is accepted for those who qualify. E-Camp carries a $50 registration fee; tuition is free. Space is still available for both Emmanuel’s SEP and E-Camp. Call 330-836-7182 for registration information.
